Joining Us
We welcome everyone. If you can hold a paddle and are even vaguely associated with humanity, you are our sort of person. There is more info below on our values but our ethos can be summarised as:
1. If you are joining us from another National League crew: welcome. You are making the right decision.
2. If you are new to dragon boat racing: doubly welcome. Joining this team could turn out to be the most life-changing, emotionally liberating and physically rewarding decision you ever make.
Your Membership
The annual membership fee is £216.00. This covers:
• Membership of the British Dragonboat Association (BDA) which you need to be able to race – which is £35 currently
• All race fees (except the HWS, which is an additional £10 per event)
• All training
Fees are generally paid monthly (£18 per month) to the Secklow Hundred account, details available in your membership pack.
You will be expected to pay £36 as a ‘sign-on’ fee which will buy you a race shirt for competing in National League events.
There is also a ‘pay as you go’ option if you would prefer to dip in and out of Secklow action.
Each training session is £4. Race events are typically £15. Monies are collected by the Treasurer (or one of the other Committee members if the Treasurer is not available).
There are also rates for student members (£144.00 per year) and under-16s (a bargain £10 per year).
