Race Report

Milton Keynes - 2013
01 June 2013

Well, eventually the sun did shine for us and with a strong crew list I for one was quite excited to see what we could do. With a total of about 22 teams we had our work cut out and 200s had never been our thing in the past! With the new start working well, we blasted the heat and got ourselves into the cup. After the semi which was another strong race, came the minor cup final. 3 races?!.....yep we missed the reps. Going into this race we weren't the fastest on paper, but again we shifted off the start and powered through for a win and an amazing time of 49.7!!

Who said Secklow can't do 200s?!!

However with such a good seeding from the 200s we then found ourselves in the first 500 heat about 15 minutes later!! With no time for a crew shuffle we went as we were. Personally I think it worked fairly well as everyone was fired up. Tactics worked perfectly and we find ourselves in the cup rounds again......woohoo no reps!

With our times getting quicker and quicker both the semi and final were close races, just getting pipped by Hurricanes for a 3rd in the final.

Secklow are back in the running. I had several comments on the day from other crews saying how strong we looked and that's down to your hard work over the last few months.

I couldn't have been prouder. Well done.
